Dammit, why does this book have to be $8.89 for the ebook???? Don't you know I'm all broke from Christmas shopping?*Annnnndddd... Amazon gift card to the rescue! :)It's not every day that you sit down to read a "new adult" romance and end up reading porn. I suppose the line is different for everyone, but when I read a book with sexy times and they turn into "HOLY CRAP did I just READ THAT correctly?" sex scenes... that is porn. This book is so completely over the top with sex that I honestly felt like it detracted from the book itself. Not my favorite.I think I'm going to have to give up on Abbi for a while. I really liked the Vincent Boys/Brothers books because the characters had known each other a long time, so it wasn't CRAZY for them to fall in love. But the characters from the other books are practically strangers and then like 3 weeks later they're already in love. I just don't buy it. So the accelerated love and the sex in this book kept me from liking it, even though I liked the overall story and the characters.I'm glad Cage got a book, though. Still, it would have been nice to see his comeuppance last a little longer. Also, I'm starting to understand the criticism that her characters are all the same. I did feel like Low was different, as a character, but I'm getting kind of tired of the "I'm an innocent virgin who has never been with a guy" and the "I'm a worldly southern macho man who gets jealous and domineering around my woman" stuff. Switch it up a little, abbi, is all I'm asking. :)I think Vincent Brothers will forever be my favorite.
